How superscoring works
SAT: the superscore is your highest Reading and Writing score plus your highest Math score from any sittings. ACT: it's the average of your best section scores. On the enhanced ACT, the composite uses English, Math and Reading, and Science is optional; the legacy ACT included Science.
Not every college superscores, and some ask for all scores. Check each college's testing policy, including whether it's test-optional.
Frequently asked questions
Do all colleges accept superscores?
No. Many do, but some use your single highest sitting, and some want every score sent.
Does Science count on the new ACT?
On the enhanced ACT, the composite is based on English, Math and Reading. Science is a separate optional section.
